Biography

Most senior leaders I meet are excellent at strategy. They are far less sure of themselves in a one-to-one where the other person is holding something back. I spent 25 years in pharma, most of them at Roche. I led teams, and I ran the same leadership programme inside the company roughly a hundred times, with people who were smart, ambitious and stuck in the same place. The pattern never changed: leaders trained for numbers and structure, and untrained for the conversation that decides whether someone tells them what is actually going on. The Leadership Circle calls the cost of that the Leadership Shadow. It shows up as controlling, as protecting, as complying - and it does not show up in a strategy deck. It shows up in conversations. So that is what we practise. Today I work with senior leaders in high-growth organisations who want their teams to think rather than wait. ICF PCC, Co-Active trained, Leadership Circle Profile practitioner. Three ways in, from lightest to deepest: Leadership Shadow Audit - ten minutes, on your own, no conversation required. Clarity Call - 30 minutes, no pitch at the end. The Leader as Coach - three modules, starts 15 October, twelve seats. If you recognise the pattern, start with the Audit in Featured below.
